Ebelskiver ...ever heard of them?

My sister who loves to cook calls me this morning to tell me I have to come over and get some Ebelskivers.

What? Evil what?

Ebelskivers. They are like fried doughnuts and I've sprinkled cinnamon and sugar on them. You have to come get some because otherwise I'll eat them all.

Oh my...they were delicious! But could be very evil if you're like us who can't just enjoy one (or two, or three...)
You need a special pan for them. It's Danish. A puffy pankcake that you can fill with jam, fruit, cheese, chocolate, Nutella, etc. But just rolled in cinnamon and sugar were scrumptious.

I'm looking forward to this upcoming weekend. Any of you planning to attend the Knit-Out at the MOA? Saturday and Sunday. I'm not sure what day I'll be there. Last year I met the super talented Kristin Nicholas and saw super sweet Susan B Anderson. (I always slip and call her Susan B Anthony!) If you plan to be there, let me know. It would be fun to meet the readers of this blog!!

I also wanted to mention this contest. Go here to enter to win an online shopping spree from Interweave.

Have a great rest of the weekend.

I debated on getting one of those pans before Thanksgiving--but I didn't. Perhaps I should revisit the idea!

have a great day!

They look super yummy, but I wouldn't be able to stop at 1 or 2 or 3 either, so I better step away from the pan ;-)
Have a super Sunday.

i am swedish, and though the lineage is watered down with a lot of other european nationalities, i love to keep scandinavian traditions alive. i THOUGHT i bought an ebelskiver pan a couple of years back. it ended up being a platt pan -- sort of like a silver dollar pancake pan. i was so irritated! i have yet to get an ebelskiver. every time my kids see that infomercial about puffy pancakes filled with chocolate pudding, they beg me to buy it...
yum!

They look so yummy! Tracy comes up with such wonderful things to make. I like to cook and bake, but I'm kinda boring.

Folks at work were just talking fondly (with drool) about ebelskivers the other day. I will have to try them one of these days.

I think I will be there next weekend... probably Saturday. I will keep an eye out for you. ;)

Hi!
Love your new header photo, super cute!

Not going to the Knit-Out this year.

I have that special pan and have only used it twice! You reminded me that I have to get it out.

I love to hear what Ella is up to. The wheelchair obsession is pretty good. I haven't heard of that one before. She would love to go to the elder care place I have brought my daughters to a couple of times to knit. Everyone is in a wheelchair, I've never seen so many wheelchairs in one spot. Ella heaven.

Take care, love your blog.

We make ebelskivers every Christmas morning! They are so scrumptious! I'm happy to see someone else is making them. Nobody around us knows what they are.
