I've been diagnosed with M.P.S.

Multiple Project Syndrome

Do any of you suffer from this? I self diagnosed myself after making a list of what I need to complete and when I had to turn the page to continue writing I finally concluded that I suffer from this disease. Ok, maybe this isn't a disease but rather an overzealous desire to CREATE. Thankfully for this blog I can openly share my list and maybe that will hold me accountable for crossing things off of it. So here it goes (and guess what? this is just a partial list):

1. Find a button and sew onto neck warmer

2. Felt this red cardinal and embellish

3. Weave in ends and block capelet
4. Figure out what's what with this mess (it's going to be a floppy dog)

5. Finish this crochet bead necklace

No photo list:
Finish two hats for friend
Knit a Buddy Bag
Sew these cool headbands for daughter
Sew this cool toy for son
Creating stuff for a soon to open Etsy store

Plus my blog is overdue for a makeover
and many more things that I won't bore you with.

PS. Thank you for all of the kind comments on the Halloween costumes. They are pretty cute kids but I'm a little biased!

R & R

This past weekend my husband and I had a little getaway on the North Shore (Lake Superior) and stayed at our favorite resort. The weather was perfect so we ventured out and did some snowshoeing and hiking on the Superior Hiking Trail. I feel like I'm in a different part of the world when I go there. It's simply breathtaking!
We also managed to sleep in, watch movies (uninterrupted), grill steaks, drink wine, surf the web and I was able to get a little knitting done. Simply divine!

Here is my progress on the skirt. I think this will be one of those projects I'll just have to pick up when I have some time, knit a row, then set down. It's really going to take a long time...

It felt like spring was in the air today. Lots of sloppy puddles everywhere and dirty snowbanks. Not so pretty. I can't wait to see spring flowers.
I've been working on a few fun "spring" patterns by Marie Mayhew- Easter eggs and chicks. I still need to felt and embellish them but here is a sneak peak:

You Tube = My Friend

This is why I LOVE technology. Never crocheted in my life. Need baby gift for Sunday. Began pacifier clip elephant pattern. Got to the ears, crap, they're crocheted! Oh no! Don't have much time left. I gotta figure it out. Go online. Search for videos. Found this one and other various web sites. And after two evenings and at least 20 attempts, finally figured it out as well as what the pattern was saying.

Oh yeah... doin' a dance... oh yeah... uh huh!
See it there? That cute little ear.

Needless to say I'm very proud of myself; not only for figuring it out but sticking with it and not giving up like I wanted to do oodles of times. But dangit my hand hurts. I think I had a death grip on that hook. Just need to do one more but I need to give my hand a rest. I'll post a new pic when it's all done. Goodnight!

Felted Hat

Here's another look at the WIP. Guess who's under the hat? Still need to knit the flower that attaches above the brim and then felt it.

Not knitting related but I have to share this sweet picture. When the weather has cooperated (which hasn't been to often lately) lil' Anders has been chaffeuring El to school in the mornings. He takes his job very seriously and makes sure he gets her to school on time (Nascar style) and sends her off with a little lovin'.
