Prince Charming and the Fairy Godmother

The fruits of my labor...

Prince Charming
and
the Fairy Godmother

I'm looking for a princess, my true love. Might you fit this glass slipper?

"You're really going to grant me my wish?"
and they all lived ...

Looking forward to trick-or-treats on Friday. Between last weekend and this coming weekend the kids will have lots of wear out of the costumes. They were so fun to create. The Fairy Godmother's was from a McCall's pattern and Prince Charming's was a doctored up suit I found at a second hand store. As thrifty as we are trying to be, going this route did not help us out but I hope the memory of the homemade costumes will be there for my children like they are for me from my mom. I tried to find a photo of the year when I was Cookie Monster and my sister was Big Bird. I'll keep looking. I loved that costume.

Happy Halloween!

LOVE IT!!!!
Making Halloween costumes has always been a favorite thing for me to do. Unfortunately, my kids aren't trick or treating this year (they say they are "too old") :(
Your kids are precious!!!

Oh what a gorgeous princess and a handsome prince they both make. Your costumes turned out fantastic too. I am sure they will look back on them one day and realise how much love was put into making them too.

Love their costumes! I wish I had that ambition! I always go for the simplest, least messy things. Maybe I'll get better as my kids get a bit older and want to do it themselves. How cool that your mom is headed to the Nickel. I do hope she'll have fun. Yes, I made that Santa Belt pillow. The idea came to me at 1 a.m. one night as I was hoping to fall asleep. I haven't visited your blog in forever so I have lots more catching up to do. I think I need to add you to my list. So far I'm lovin' what I'm seeing! :) Deanna

Your kids are so lucky. My mom made all of my costumes while growing up and most of my special event clothes even as an adult. I'll never forget the feeling of putting on something handmade especially for me by someone who loved me.

The. Best. Ever.

Good job.

Your kids are beautiful.
