I did it!

Sunday, October 5, 2008 Medtronic Twin Cities 10 Mile
My Time- 1:52:29
What an amazing journey! and I can't wait to do it again! The emotions I had when approaching and finally crossing the finish line were overwhelming. When my sister and I joined a running club back in June we had a very hard time believing that we were going to be able to run ten miles and survive to tell about it. But here we are :) Alive and well and maybe a little sore but so much stronger inside and out. I can't tell you how many times I heard people say "distance running is a huge mind game" and I beat it because at mile 8 my body was ready to quit. The rain didn't help either. I was soaking wet at the end.
Ok, so I'm not quite ready to run a marathon but I haven't given up on the idea just yet. I'm definitely doing this again. You should try it too!

I was a miler on the track team, so I know a little about it :-) So, I have to give you a hearty CONGRATS!! That's an awesome accomplishment.

Congratulations! I've never ran anything more than the obligatory mile in P.E. so my hat certainly goes off to you. :-)

Enjoy the moment...I am savoring mine as well, and am trying to find a half-marathon to do in the spring...are you interested in joining me??? So glad we have become friends...this was a really neat journey and fun to meet such nice people in the process!!!

Way to go! Good job beating the mind game!

I am just getting back into running....did sprints in highschool, never more than a mile. My goal is to be running 5k by New Years!

Yay! That is wonderful and what a great feeling of accomplishment for you. 10 miles? Wow.

I am sure you weren't slogging along either: )

Nicely done! I've done the TC 10 miler three times now. I'm sorry that you had such a wet day because it really is the prettiest course in the Fall. Anyway, good job!
